My Story

Hello dear, my name is Shaleenee Jadoopat and I am an UI Designer originally from Guyana. Being a resident in the United States since 2013 had broadened my horizons in so many ways. Developing a curiosity in design began when my husband pointed out that I was a critic when navigating through websites to find information. It made me realized I would love to work creatively and get the details right to help improve the user’s experience. By exploring the design field, I taught myself HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Then personally felt it was time to find a school to expand my knowledge and get hands-on experiences in a collaborative workspace.

My best pick was DESIGNATION a highly intensive and immersive UI/UX Bootcamp in the heart of Chicago. During that time, I worked with other UI/UX designers and applied the skills I learned on real-life client projects to helped improved their digital interfaces. My work can be further viewed here. Realizing my capabilities of working in such an intense agile environment, I adapted quickly and embraced uncertainty. My drive to open-mindedness and curiosity kept me going. I love every aspect of design starting from not knowing the domain to research. It is very fulfilling to see the design through iteration, refinement, and transformation throughout the design process. I am always pushing myself to a higher level by improving my skills, abilities, and keep learning.

Personally, I’m adventurous, open-minded and I enjoy every walk of life. I love cooking while experimenting with different ingredients, traveling combined with exploring nature, doing outdoor activities, dancing, yoga, being with the family, and of course design. I also love taking photographs of nature and the sky Instagram while pinning away stuff I’m learning or seem interesting Pinterest.

Some of my strengths I developed are strong creative thinking skills, high attention to details, learned to take massive constructive feedback and worked in a highly collaborative agile environment. My website and work are a proof of everything! I thoroughly enjoyed designing my portfolio ― figuring out how to use WordPress was a challenge, my HTML & CSS knowledge helped me customize it fully to my likings, my UI/UX skills made it aesthetically pleasing and easy to use.

Finally, one of the things I pride myself on is my UI Design process: striving for full awareness of what the goals are, putting myself in the user’s shoe, gathering requirements, research competitors in and out of the domain, and iterate as many times needed ― lead to produce usable, colorful, effortless, enjoyable, and accessible hi-fi mockups. I believe with my skills, curiosity, and hunger to grow as an UI Designer make me the kind of keen designer you need on your team. I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to reach me.

Thank you for stopping by!
